The second project update newsletter on the construction of the fully-integrated bus and train station at Pukekohe has just been released.

Stage 1 works are complete and over the next few weeks and into the New Year, the following works are planned to be carried out:

• Laying the foundation (piling) for the new pedestrian overbridge which will connect Station Road to Custom Street.
• Painting of the new cycle lane leading to the intersection of Manukau Road and minor repairs.
• From 13 to 23 December, isolated works will be undertaken on the rail platform.
• From 27 to 31 December, works will be carried out between 6.00am and 6.00pm to enable piling works to begin on the platform (work will start at 4.00am on 27 December).

Once all works are completed in late 2017, Pukekohe Station will make it easier for people in Pukekohe and the surrounding areas of Waiuku, Patumahoe and Tuakau to connect between high frequency trains and buses.
