Come and celebrate New Zealand women achieving the right to vote (a world first!)

Enjoy a wine, tasty nibbles and a fascinating speaker.

Hear how it happened, what it was like then, what’s changed and why this is important now.

Kate Potter was part of the team that developed the He Tohu exhibition, a new permanent exhibition of He Whakaputanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition at the National Library in Wellington.

Kate’s work ranged from delving into the lives of the women who signed the petition to supporting young people to explore themes such as gender equality, social action, and cultural interaction.
