Franklin Country Farmers’ Market in Pukekohe is a food market where local growers, farmers and artisan food producers sell their wares directly to consumers. Stall holders may only sell what they grow, farm, pickle, preserve, bake, smoke or catch themselves from within a defined local area. It is all about supporting local and buying local. The Franklin Country Farmers’ market operates in the Pukekohe town square every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. During the winter months, the market has a wet weather venue at the Youth Centre in Roulston Street, adjacent to the town square.
Home made jams and jellies, honey, free-range eggs, salami and sausages, macadamia nut products, chilli sauces and salsas, flavoured oils and dips, highland beef, fresh flowers, extra virgin olive oil and chutneys; gluten, wheat, dairy and egg free products are just some of the products provided by the market stallholders.
